With a new Bass fishing season beginning for those anglers living in the south and the new season looming in the distance for anglers in the north, preparations are underway. As fisherman and boaters, we want to get to the lake as fast as we can to enjoy the water and then back home quickly to get the boat put away. To do this though, you need to make sure you take the proper steps to ensure a safe and uneventful trip to and from the lake with your boat in tow.
The first thing I suggest is making your sure tow vehicle is in good working order and able to pull the boat you have. This means getting it serviced as scheduled and having your auto technician make sure the vehicle’s trailering mount and wire harness is in good working order.
Before I pull the boat from the garage, I always do a quick walk around. Here I’m making sure no items are in the boat that will fly out and cause a disturbance on the highway, I’m also making sure the tires have air in them; the extension cord to my battery charger is unhooked and overall just making sure I don’t see any issues with my trailer.
We all get in a rush sometimes, but going slow and taking your time to get to the lake, will help you get their safely and without any issues.
