Lake Guntersville Bass Fishing Report – Fishing setting up on the drops

The warm days this past week have raised Guntersville’s water temperature to the mid-70’s and the bass are starting to show up on the drops.  More and more bass are moving out every day.

My clients and I have been fishing from Waterfront to the Guntersville Dam focusing on hard bottom areas close to deep water.  The bite has been consistent each day and the biggest fish of the week was right at 8-pounds.

We’re fishing a combination of 1/2 and 3/4 oz 4×4 Football Jigs in Hawk’s Prey and Defensive Craw, 6-inch green pumpkin Yamamoto Senkos rigged on 1/2 and 3/4 oz Picasso Shake-E-Football heads, and swimbaits for fish suspended in the water column.

Right now through July is my favorite time of year to fish Guntersville.  I enjoy pinpointing off-shore bass with my Lowrance electronics and then catching those fish.  If you’re looking to pick up some off-shore fishing tips, like how to get the most out of your Lowrance electronics to find off-shore bass, I know I can help.
