Cal Delta Bass Fishing Report – Oct. 2013

Category : BASS FISHING REPORTS

BHQ-Delta

Conditions:  Air temp was about 65-70 degrees. Water temp was about 61-62 degrees. Wind was 0-5 mph. High tide was around 9:30. Fished from 6:30am-12:00pm.

I launched out of Russo’s Marina with my tournament partner Tanner Sleek to practice for our upcoming tournament on November 3rd. We headed towards piper slough in the early morning. I was doing some product testing for my sponsor Oconee Custom Lures and was able to pull my two keepers out first thing in the morning on Oconee buzz baits. I was throwing the white and orange skirt. Tanner started out cranking right away and was able to get a consistent bite until around 9:00am. We drove a good distance to little potato slough to throw senkos in the tulle patches. Tanner was throwing a weighted wacky style senko green senko and was able to get a lot of bites and a few keepers

Overall the delta was tough for us as far as bigger fish are concerned,.. But tons of action with small fish if you don’t mind covering a lot of water.

See ya on the water!
