Cal Delta Bass Fishing Report Video – April 2014 – Zak Elrite

The fish are very affected by weather this time of year. Many fish have already spawned but many are ready to catch.
Water temp: 62-65 degrees, Overcast with air temps in the low 60’s, Wind speed 8-10mph
With high pressure and bluebird skies, working the 4-6’ depths with squarebilled cranks, chatterbaits, and lipless cranks will all produce active Bass in the 2-3lb class
Afternoon air temps: Mid to upper 70’s. As air temps increase in the afternoon from cold mornings, try throwing towater walking baits and buzzbaits near shallow flats with sparse tules and clean hydrilla.
Pick 2-3 of your favorite reaction baits and move fast until you catch a few active fish in an area. Then switch to a jig or Texas rigged soft plastic and pitch to sparse tules and weed clumps in that area for the best odds of catching a bigger fish.
