Lewis Smith Lake Bass Fishing Report – The Spotted Bass are Firing
Category : BASS FISHING REPORTS
The Smith Lake Park Bass Fest is just two weeks out and the spotted bass are firing right now. The water temperature is around 83 degrees and there’s baitfish visible everywhere. You can catch fish all over the lake right now on just about any technique you like to fish including topwater, swimbaits, jigs, and dropshot.
Don’t overlook smaller-sized topwater baits on Smith this time of year like the DUO Realis Pencil 85 Not only does the Pencil 85 match the smaller baitfish the spots are chasing right now, but I find it gets more bites when the surface conditions are glass calm and also when there’s a lot of fishing pressure.
The Smith Lake Park Bass Fest is a team tournament with a $10,000 first place prize and also pays $2500 for big fish. It’s going down on October 3rd and you can find all details at Smith Lake Park Bass Fest.
I have dates open in October for both Smith Lake and Guntersville. If you’re interested in booking a trip please call or email to confirm availability.
