Lewis Smith Lake Bass Fishing Report – Topwater and dropshot producing good catches over Labor Day Weekend

Although there was a lot of pleasure boat traffic on Smith Lake over the Labor Day holiday weekend, the spotted bass fishing was solid overall.  The water temps hovered around 88 degrees and there was plenty of schooling action especially early in the mornings.

My clients caught spots on top with a DUO Realis Pencil 110 in both the Violet Ghost and Neo Pearl and also dropshotting various bait fish colored plastics in 15 to 30 feet of water.  We focused on fishing points and drops close to deep water.

Would you like to gain more confidence using your electronics to catch spotted bass?  Now is the time to book your trip.  You’ll be catching the spots you’re seeing on the sonar—video game style.

I have several dates available in Sept and Oct.  If you’re interested in booking a trip please call or email to confirm availability.
