Fishing Guntersville’s Drops – Lake Guntersville Bass Fishing Report
Category : BASS FISHING REPORTS, HAWK TALK
I enjoy fishing and guiding on Guntersville during the summer more than any other time of year. Yes, the weather is hot. But you know what else is hot? The bass fishing.
My clients and I had a blast this week fishing Gville’s drops from Waterfront down to the Dam using several different presentations depending on the time of day and location. The bite has been consistent from daylight until the afternoon.
I graph heavily this time of year with my Lowrance electronics to find the bass. If I see the fish suspended off the bottom I’ll have my clients start fishing a swimbait or hair jig. If the bass are hugging the bottom we’ll start with a bottom presentation, like a 3/4 oz 4×4 Football Jig in Hawk’s Prey or Defensive Craw paired with a Green Pumpkin 5″ Yamamoto Double Tail Grub. It’s important to show the bass different presentations, so they can let you know what they want.
