Lake Guntersville Bass Fishing Report – Changes on Gville
Category : BASS FISHING REPORTS, HAWK TALK
The summertime bite that had been so consistent on Gville over the past several weeks slowed down for my clients and I early in the week. I can’t say for sure what affected the bite as we targeted the same locations and fished the same techniques that had been producing so well, but I suspect the dirtier water from recent rains and the full moon may have scattered the fish some. The bite, however, picked up again at the end of the week and we found the bass grouped up heavy again.
Lake Guntersville’s water temperature is currently in the mid to upper 80’s right now, and if you enjoy pinpointing schools of bass offshore now is the time to be fishing Gville. My clients and I have been targeting drops anywhere from 10 to 20 feet deep while keying in on hard bottom areas. We’ve been catching our fish on a handful of presentations fished near the bottom of the water column. Heavy swimbaits, jigs and worms are all producing well right now.
I still have some dates open in July if you’d like to schedule a trip with me on Gville. If you’re interested in booking a trip please contact me for current availability
