30th Anniversary of The West’s Most Prestigious Event
San Clemente, CA – August 20, 2012 – With 2012 marking the 30th Anniversary for the WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open; Western Outdoor News, the parent company of the tournament has decided to pull out all the stops and broadcast major portions of the event live over the Internet. The daily broadcasts of the September 10 – 12 event will be known as WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open presented by Costa Sunglasses.
The WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open presented by Costa Sunglasses will begin from the Sponsor Showcase on Sunday September 9 with a video webcast pregame show, will include on the water coverage, live coverage of the weigh-in and a video webcast post game show featuring expert commentary and angler interviews.
Along with the live webcasts, WON Bass will also be communicating the story of U.S. Open of Bass Fishing to the external media at large via daily news releases and broadcast messages featuring complete standings, interviews with the leaders and exclusive photography from the event.
To pull all of this together, WON Bass has brought together a team of individuals who represent some of the premier independent media sources in professional bass fishing.
The WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open presented by Costa Sunglasses will be hosted by Mark Jeffreys and Dave Rush of BASS ZONE.com’s Wide Open. Jeffreys will also be collaborating with WON Bass Tournament Director Bill Egan, who will be emcee of the weigh-ins and will also provide event commentary on the post game shows.
BASS ZONE.com has become known industry wide for their outstanding coverage of the Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tours. Wide Open has become a staple for fans of bass fishing who seek direct information from on the pros, both on the water and after the weigh-ins.
Along with the live webcasts of The BASS ZONE crew, WON Bass has also enlisted the efforts of Dan O’Sullivan; Managing Editor of Advanced Angler.com to serve as Communications Representative for the U.S. Open. O’Sullivan’s position as a professional communicator, a media member and photographer will allow WON Bass to tell the story of the most prestigious event in the Western United States to bass fishing fans everywhere through communications to the bass fishing media at large. O’Sullivan will also be assisting Jeffrey’s and Rush with Wide Open coverage on the water and after the events at the WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open presented by Costa Sunglasses post game shows.
The WON Bass Nitro Boats / Mercury Marine U.S. Open presented by Costa Sunglasses Webcasts will begin with a pregame show from the Boulder Station Casino after the Sponsor Showcase and mandatory partner pairing meeting. Daily event coverage will begin following tournament take off with hourly updates at 7:00AM, 8:00AM, 9:00AM, 10:00AM and 11:00AM each day, followed by weigh-in coverage beginning at 2:00PM and finally a 6:00PM post game show; all show times are Pacific Standard Time.
