Roman Made Mother Swimbait – Monster Bass Proven
Category : JDM BASS FISHING LURES, SWIMBAITS
Premium hand-crafted wooden swimbaits from Japan.
A non-standard swimbait, the Roman Made Mother Swimbait is intimidating at first glance. Most trophy anglers have not witnessed such a lure. Some will fear its profile and weight. Once the angler learns how to harness the Mother’s action he will be amazed.
Its function begins with the cast, a powerful signal is issued with its splash. Once the Mother traverses through the water column big bass sense its presence. The power of this lure draws a typical behavior from big bass. The standard lipless version of the mother is 30 cm and over 300g. The heavily fished bass of Biwa draws a serious intent to the lure even under their discriminate study. The traditional swimbait theory does not apply here. A giant bass reaction is awe-inspiring. Many anglers learn big bass will eat the head of the swimbait but with the Mother, they react to the entire body of the lure. The vicinity of the eye, the head, and upper tail are region focus strikes.
The Mother has a graceful yet powerful swim-able to push a significant amount of water but without dysfunctional movement. The water impacted along the side of the bait moves like current along the lure. The lure can be manipulated to travel a wide swing. It can be crawled along slightly below the surface like cold water prey affected by warm water temperatures. The Custom has a slow balanced fall. It can be fished more aggressively on the bottom due to the hook arrangement.
The Mother was the bait Manabu Kurita used to catch the previous Lake Biwa record bass – prior to catching his world record-tying beast. Roman Made is well known in Japan as the premier big bait manufacturer. Extremely difficult to find in the US, each Roman Made bait is a work-of-art – handmade and hand-tuned one-by-one near Lake Biwa in Japan. Designed with Kurita to target large bass on Lake Biwa, the Mother is a special swimbait even by Roman Made’s standards. They tried many different prototypes in different sizes, shapes, and weights before finally settling on the Mother’s current size. Once they found it, the results were astounding – and the fish responded right away.
